Twelve guys got together for a great weekend at a VRBO house in Davenport, Florida this past weekend.  Russ Lemmon took the regular season title and a $225 side pot with a 16-8 record.  But, nobody could get in the way of the juggernaut that was Steven Baldeaux.  He took some tips from the winner of the Kentucky Derby and made up some serious ground late in the tournament.  Here are the final standings:

Steven knocked off Russ 3 games to 1 in one semifinal.  Lance swept Andrew in the other.  Then Lance and Steven tangled in an epic 7 game championship series.  Eventually, the World Champ was knocked off by our version of Golden Tempo.  Congratulations Steven.

Another enjoyable tournament with the South Region.  The VRBO location is great--except for perhaps one dubious chair/counter position which seemed to have a curse on it--at one point there were eleven consecutive losses by anyone seated in that chair--I was the victim of seven of them, before swapping to the opposite side and being the beneficiary of four victories.

Definitely up and down for me following the seven losses and dropping to 7-9, before going on a heater and winning ten straight.

The rental is a nice location (close to home for me), and the competition is definitely a good group.  It was also a pleasure to cook up some Jambalaya for everyone to enjoy.
